About Our Ingredients

Preservatives- All of our lotions, creams, butters, scrubs, and cleansers protect your family with natural preservatives free of parabens and phthalates. We do not add anything to our soaps and lotions that doesn't belong in or on our bodies. We do add skin-loving plant-based extracts and botanical blends that are organic and have proven benefit in improving the look and feel of our skin.

Colorants- We use three types of colorants. Mica is an environmentally sustainable and responsibly-sourced colorant (the same colorant found in cosmetic eyeshadows and blushes), EZ Colors are FDA approved water soluble non-staining dyes for soap and cosmetics, and finally, natural colorants such as spirulina, turmeric, pumpkin, and papaya powders that double as beneficially additives for skin and hair. Of course, because our products are made in small batches locally, we are able to customize every product without colorants or fragrances.

Glitter- While some products look shimmery and pretty, all of the "glitter" and shimmer we use is from a product line called Enviroglitter. This "glitter" is actually made from natural mica and contains NO aluminum or PET. No metals or glass are used in any of our products or packaging. This shimmery powder is body safe, natural, and washes clean from your body, bath, and drain.

Vegan- About 90% of our products are vegan. They are clearly marked on our website and packaging. Our bath bombs are made with milk powder, and some products contain honey powder. On request, milk powder can be substituted for vegan surfactants. Products with glycerin are made with vegetable glycerin. We do not use any butters or oils from animal fats, and our palm oil is responsibly-sourced from partners committed to environmental sustainability. In products containing wax, we use calendella wax as a substitute for beeswax when it doesn't jeopardize the integrity of the product. One of our cold-processed soap recipes is made with fresh goat milk farmed locally in Colorado. The other four soaps are vegan. 

Packaging- We are on the way to plastic-free and have made great gains in achieving our goal of 100% sustainable, compostable, and recyclable packaging. All of our shipping packaging (including jars) is 100% recyclable or compostable, BPA free and we encourage recycling and reusing whenever possible. We do not use any single-use product packaging.
